FAMILY TIMES
His Children
Since the last newsletter at the end of 2003, God continues to do
great things around us. Just ask the 5 couples who have received one
of God's greatest blessings: a newborn child placed in their home!
Or ask one of the 4 families recently chosen by birth mothers with
whom we are already working! Ask the birth mothers of these babies
how God is blessing their lives and giving hope -- for their
babies and for themselves! Ask the 7 other couples/families on our
list to whom God is giving a "second chance" to have children
to raise to His honor and glory! And don't forget to ask the babies
themselves who have been given/are being given the chance at LIFE!!!
As a concerned friend of Christian Family Services you are
right there in the middle of all these things. Your prayers,
your ongoing personal financial support, your intercession with your
local congregations on behalf of CFS, and your positive word of
mouth to those around you, have allowed God to directly work in the
lives of the above mentioned individuals and families. You have
enabled CFS to come along side both birth mothers in crisis and
couples wanting to complete their families.
Yet God is showing us that much more needs to be done.
Please consider additional ways you can help. First, I would like to
speak to as many congregations and/or elders as possible this year.
Talk to the preachers, elders, deacons, and their wives to discuss
the growing need for young women to be given a Christian alternative
to abortion. Tell them about CFS, the tremendous work God is doing,
and suggest it would be good to have a representative come and more
fully inform the members of your congregation. Second, talk to
whomever is responsible for ongoing support of "children's homes,"
etc., and ask them to consider supporting CFS. Third, explore the
possibility of your congregation being involved in our fall
Investing in Lives "change can" program. And finally, help
spread the word of our continuing need for good Christian families
to consider "adoption" as a means of bringing these infants
up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, or to consider
becoming one of our special "short-term" foster
families.
I truly believe that God will do so much more through this
effort if we will but trust Him to use us. May God's richest
blessings be on you and your family as you make it possible for Him
to be a blessing to newborn babies, mothers in crisis, and couples
longing to raise a family through the work of Christian Family
Services.
