Counseling: Listening Carefully and Exploring the
Possibilities
We're here to help birth mothers through the most difficult
decisions they'll ever face. Decisions that no one else can or
should make for them.
Every situation is unique, and everyone facing an unexpected
pregnancy has different feelings, concerns, and questions. We
help women sort through the difficult issues and discover solutions
they can live with.
We supply information birth mothers need to be well-informed,
such as options for medical care, the demands of motherhood, and
the legal considerations for adoption.
If you find yourself in a crisis pregnancy, you may be
confronting dilemmas and asking questions similar to the ones
here. Our counseling begins with listening to your
concerns, understanding your feelings and relationships, and
clarifying what's important to you. Our experience with birth
mothers can be useful as you seek the greatest good for your
life, your baby, and your relationships.
My Life
Am I a bad person? Will life ever be normal again? My
parents say I should "_______." The father says I should
"_______." No one understands, even my friends. Who's on my
side?
My Baby
Will my baby be healthy? I want my baby to have a father. I
want my baby "raised right." Could I be a good mother to this
baby?
My Relationships
All my feelings are mixed up. My friends seem like
strangers. My parents have decided for me. I want the father
to love me. I want the father to love this baby as much as I
do.
My Alternatives
Would abortion solve my problems? What kind of mother gives up
her baby for adoption? What are the father's legal rights? Can
I choose a family to adopt my baby? Would I ever see my baby
again? My head says abortion; my heart says keep the baby. I
want my child to grow up in a good Christian home.
My Decision
I can't decide yet; I keep changing my mind. I can't make
everyone happy. I need a place to think. When do I have to
decide?
My Plan
What do I have to decide and when? Medical expenses could be a
problem. I need a place to stay.
